After searching through the ZF transmission website and finding AllenPMW as a trustworthy recommended transmission service mechanic so i called in and booked my BMW X5 in the following week. Today i dropped the car (X5 E70 8spd) into Phil for an auto transmission fluid kit service, first time in 94k, recommended by ZF 100k ATF service.. I was impressed with the work done and enjoyed a smooth transmission drive home. The price paid was 35 below the quote. The workshop is very handily placed just 2-3 minute walk to the train station, they seem to be a nice team of chaps, so i shall be returning for future work.
Great independent BMW mechanic
Phil is very knowledgeable and takes a good care of your car while it is being fixed. You have to appreciate your Bmw and make your mind that genuine parts only are the best for your car, this is the only condition making repairs at this place. If you can live with that your car will be fixed and it will last.
Spoke to these guys over a week ago about a repair job, emailed a couple of times, left them 4 answer phone messages and a week later I am no further forward which is very frustrating when i'm still left with a car I haven't been able to drive for a week now. So I am now having to ring round other suitable garages to get the work done which will push things back by at least another week. All I wanted was either an email reply or a return phone call to say they didn't want or couldn't do the work and I could have started looking elsewhere a week ago.
Excellent BMW servicing - better than a franchised dealer, at half the price. I've been getting my 530D serviced there for the last 7 years and 150,000 miles and am very happy.Phil is always happy to take the time to discuss any issues and possible ways forward rather than just - 'this needs doing - it will be xxx'.Confidence in the service has made it viable for me to keep an elderly 5 series as my work car, so has saved me a fortune in depreciation as well as garage fees.
